PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY:
While attending night law school and before entering practice, Mark worked full-time as a judicial law clerk for the Judges of Minnesota’s First Judicial District. There, he learned firshand the operation of the Judicial System and its role in the resolution of disputes. Since entering practice in 1979, Mark has focused on serving the legal needs of privately-held businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals, with an emphasis on keeping his clients out of Court based on a simple premise: It’s cheaper to talk to your lawyer early and often than it is for your lawyer to represent you in Court. From this, he has developed many long-standing client relationships and a style of law practice emphasizing accessibility, candor, common sense, diligence, thoroughness, attention to detail, and professional courtesy, all with due regard for the client’s bottom line. Underlying all of this is a philosophy that the client is best served when the lawyer takes his client’s matter seriously but does not take himself too seriously. Mark loves to hear and to tell lawyer jokes.
